- Mat Size 6 x 4 ft
- Thickness 1/4 in (6 mm)
A mat that stays put through jump-heavy cardio and stores in a closet.
This is not floor covering, and it does not pretend to be. One 6 x 4 foot mat, 24 square feet, arrives rolled with two straps and a bag; you unroll it and the rest of the room stays as it was. For cardio and bodyweight work in a living room or a spare corner, that is exactly the right amount of commitment, and it is why this is our choice for a gym that has to disappear.
The top surface is what makes it worth the premium. It is dense, non-slip and built to be used in shoes, which is rarer than it sounds at this size. We have done jump-heavy intervals on ours without chasing it back across the floor, and the patterned underside grips hardwood, tile and vinyl plank alike.
At a quarter inch it is thinner than the foam tiles here, and that is the trade: a fast, stable surface instead of a soft one. Knees and elbows are fine. A dumbbell dropped from shoulder height is not what this is for, and neither is a rack. Where it earns its keep is the session that moves — burpees, jump rope, lunges down the length of it, a rowing machine parked at one end.
Roll it up, strap it, stand it in a closet, and it comes back flat within a day. That is the one thing a mat like this has to get right, and ours has.
Bottom Line
For cardio and bodyweight work in a room that has to go back to normal, we hand people this mat: grippy, shoe-friendly, and it rolls away.
